The Fasano brand began its international expansion in 2010 with the inauguration of the Hotel Fasano Punta del Este in Uruguay. The chosen scenario to receive the award winning architectural project of Isay Weinfeld was the region of La Barra, in Punta del Este. A preserved area of 480 hectares, which integrates the countryside and the sea in a unique way.
The activities were resumed in December 2016 with the inauguration of the Locanda Fasano, designed by Carolina Proto, a Brazilian architect based in Punta del Este. In this new stage, 10 new apartments and suites were designed, complementing the 20 existing bungalows on the property. The Locanda is located next to the iconic Fasano Restaurant, that offers a breathtaking view of the property and the surrounding nature, with new leisure areas such as a lounge, swimming pool, solarium and bar.
